Rules of the Competition
6. Fish must be caught in the area designated by the competition and stated in the schedule.
7. Fish of any non-target species, whether exotic or native fish must immediately be returned to the water with the least possible injury or damage at the site of capture. This condition does not apply when the species is a declared noxious aquatic species.
8. Only land based fishing will be permitted along the Goulburn River. Vessel based fishing is also permitted on Lake Eildon and participants are to be familiar with the rules and regulations outlined by the Marine Act and associated regulations and all passengers must wear a PFD (life vest) at all times.
9. No fishing on private property unless land owner permission has been granted and it is expected that the site be kept clean and rubbish disposed of appropriately.
10. Prize winning fish must be caught under the guidelines/rules laid down by the Department of Primary Industries and contained in the current Victorian Recreational Fishing Guide.
11. Fish must be caught on rod and line only limited to one rod per registered person. Excluding methods spear fishing – netting, long line, angling taken by hand, chemical or explosive fishing or any similar method.
12. Illegal or suspected illegal fishing is to be reported to 13FISH (133474)
13. Members of the event management committee (the Murrindindi Mitchell Bushfire Tourism Recovery Group), staff of Yarra Ranges Marketing, Staff from Fisheries Victoria, and staff from Sportscover are not entitled to enter the competition.
Verification of fish
14. All winning fish must be presented to the Sportscover Loss Adjuster for inspection and verification no more that 2 hours after the finishing date of the allocated period stated here-in and in the schedule. Any fish presented after this time will not be accepted.
15. All winning fish remain the property of Sportscover Australia Pty Ltd until verification has been completed when they will be returned to the winning angler.
Results
16. The prize is a single prize only with no reinstatement.
17. Prize moneys will be paid to the winning angler/s within 45 days following confirmation
18. The results of any correctly tagged and angled fish captured will be announced in the Herald Sun on Friday 22 October 2010.
